Privacy policy.
We collect what the app needs to work: your account details, your food logs, and your body metrics. We use them to run your tracker and nothing else. We never sell your data, and you can export or delete everything, any time.
What we collect
We collect three kinds of information:
- Account information. Your name, email address, and password (stored hashed — we can't read it).
- Things you log. Your meals, portions, weight entries, goals, and targets. This is the point of the app.
- Usage basics. Device type, app version, and crash reports, so we can fix what breaks.
We do not collect your contacts, your location, or anything from other apps unless you connect them yourself (see Health data below).
How we use it
Your data does exactly four jobs:
- Running your tracker — logging food, filling rings, computing totals.
- Adapting your targets — the coach learns from your own logs and weight trend.
- Improving the food record — for example, spotting foods many people search for but can't find. This uses counts across many users, never your individual diary.
- Talking to you — wave invites, receipts, and answers when you write to us.
We don't use your data for ads. There are no ads.
Health data
Food logs and weight are health-related, so we hold them to a higher bar. If you connect Apple Health or Google Fit, we only read and write what you approve on the permission screen, and you can disconnect at any time in your account settings. We never share health data with advertisers or data brokers — not aggregated, not anonymized, not at all.
What we share
We share data with a small set of service providers who help us run Mentzer — cloud hosting, email delivery, and payment processing. They act on our instructions and can't use your data for their own purposes. We list the current providers on request.
Beyond that, we only disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users. We never sell your data. The business is the subscription, not you.
How long we keep it
As long as you have an account, we keep your logs so your history and trends work. If you delete your account, we erase your profile and logs from live systems right away, and from backups within 30 days. Payment records stay as long as tax law says they must.
Your rights
On every tier, free or paid, you can:
- Export every log you ever made, from account settings, any time.
- Correct anything that's wrong — in the app, directly.
- Delete your account and everything in it, for good.
- Ask us what we hold about you. We answer within 30 days.
These rights follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. If you think we've fallen short, contact us first — and you always have the right to complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Security
All data moves over encrypted connections and is encrypted where it's stored. Passwords are hashed. Access inside the team is limited to people who need it to help you, and every access is logged. If a breach ever affects your data, we will tell you plainly and quickly — the same honesty rule the app runs on.
Children
Mentzer is for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you believe a minor has an account, write to us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app and by email before it takes effect — not bury it in a changelog. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
